Many, many people own dogs. For a lot of these people, dogs aren't just pets. They are also members of the family and they are treated as such. When you're travelling you probably want to take your dog with you, and that means that you have to go to places where dogs are welcomed.

There are a lot of these places, but you do want to take the time to find them and make sure that they fit what you're looking for. Just because they accommodate dogs doesn't mean that they are just the right fit for you or your four-legged friend. With a little patience and research, though, you can find just the right hotel or cottage that's dog friendly, and you can get one in a location that is great for walking your dog, with stunning locations, great views, and a lot of wide open spaces. It'll be good for your dog, and great for you, as well. Taking your dog on holiday isn't as difficult as many people make it out to be as long as the dog is well-behaved and understands commands. The size of your dog can sometimes make travelling more difficult, too, but it's usually not that big of a deal with a well-trained animal.

Once you find those stunning vistas that you're looking for, you'll need to see how many of them can accommodate you, and for that you'll want to look for dog friendly cottages in areas like the countryside. Don't try to stuff you and your dog into a tiny hotel room in a cramped, big city. Neither one of you will be happy with that arrangement, no matter how nice the accommodations are. Get out in nature a bit and rent a cottage.

There are some that are self-catering and others that have every amenity you could imagine, but either way you and your dog will be treated to some of the most breathtaking scenery imaginable. You can walk for a few minutes or for hours and just look at the natural beauty that surrounds you. If you go at a nice time of year things might be a little more crowded, so you'll want to book ahead as much as possible. You can get better rates that way, too, which means you might be able to stay and enjoy walking with your dog for just a little while longer, as well.
